See. I Told You So . . .

Things have really sped up for Brandi, Lowell, and Landon on the new home front.

Originally they thought they would have to wait until the end of the year before they could get their house built.

But as it turned out, someone else’s deal for the same model fell through and they were able to take it over early enough so that they could still make the design choices.

And it’s coming right along.

As it stands now they should be able to move in sometime in June.

I’ve been checking the temps in places like Cody, WY, Billings, MT, and Gillette, WY. All places that that we plan to be in the next couple of months, and all places that I really hope warm up by the time we get there. Last night the temps there were in the teens and low 20’s.

Tale of Two Cities Chart

I found this chart on Facebook recently and it settles the question once and for all about what causes gun violence.

Guns Chicago v Houston

Based on the chart, the real cause of gun violence is Cold Weather.

When  I heard about the explosion in West, TX I knew we’d been through there at some point in our travels and it turns out it was just last summer.

We left our Gate Guarding job in late August and headed north on I-35 on our way to Celina, OH for Nick’s Gypsy Journal Rally. We stayed just north of there at the Lake Whitney Thousand Trails park our first night on the road. So I’m sure we would have heard and felt the blast.

In fact, according to a online diagram, if we’d been unlucky enough to have been passing through on I-35 at the wrong time, we would been within the blast radius.

Today was a pretty quiet, slow day, and we didn’t do much of anything.

Since Nick and Terry were still tied up with family stuff, Jan and I headed out for dinner about 4:30 and ended up at an Outback Steakhouse.

And, as I mentioned the other day, we went to a steak house and Jan had CHICKEN. Told ya.

Thought for the Day:

"The prohibition is general. No clause in the Constitution could by any rule of construction be conceived to give to Congress a power to disarm the people. Such a flagitious attempt could only be made under some general pretense by a state legislature. But if in any blind pursuit of inordinate power, either should attempt it, this amendment may be appealed to as a restraint on both." – William Rawle, A View of the Constitution 125-6 (2nd ed. 1829

  1. Really great looking house. Loved the round arches over doorways and the tray or coffered ceilings. Should be stunning when completed.

Statistics can be manipulated to prove almost any point of the person making the presentation. My interpretation of the Chicago stats is that Rahm has one hell of a problem.

  2. If we have a heads up we would love to meet you guys for dinner, lunch, etc. when you come through the Billings, MT area. We too wish it would warm up although we are headed back to Aransas Pass tomorrow where it will be plenty warm!

  3. wow what a fabo home congrats to them……………..

  4. heard from folks currently staying at TT – Lake Whitney. . .and they say they felt the blast. . .

  5. George,

We’re really looking forward to seeing it when we’re through there in August.

  6. Janna,

    We’d love to.

Be sure and remind us when we’re in the area, that you’re there too.

  7. I am with Jan…hard to beat chicken!!

LOVELY, LOVELY home for your family…what a great thing for a young couple…stupendous looking house on the outside!!

  8. I just love the excitement of building a new house…… Perhaps that is why I have invested in several of them…. Each one was built new… Just its that they don’t make very good investments because they tax you to death just to own them….. And the market is so volatile you never know what they are worth or how long it will be before you can sell them off…. But we share your daughter’s excitement for moving into her new place… Are you going to go help? Get some Brandon time that way…..!
